Setting your online shop was probably exciting for you since you had seen how much other brands are making in sales every month yet when you start there is little to no sales in your shop. Frustration may set in and you might start thinking why you even considered opening an online shop in the first place.

Integrate Instagram With Your Shopify.

You may be using Instagram by now and have been following other peoples tips and tricks as well as possible by adding hashtags, interacting with people, providing value and responding to everything they ask you (If you are missing some of these things then you might want to check this article out!) but your sales could still be stale even though you are getting solid feedback and it’s not a problem with your products as you might think!

When people use social media they want everything as easy and seamless as possible and going to your profile in order to tap on a link that sends them to your online store can seem like an inconvenience most people aren’t willing to go through even though they DO like your brand and product ideas.

This is where your Instagram integration with Shopify comes into play! It lets you create links on your posts that sends people directly into the product you described, making it as easy to find as possible!

The only problem with this is that you need to get approval from Instagram itself in order for you to be able to sell products on Instagram with the links feature.

In order for you to ask for approval (no, you’re not getting married) you will need to follow these steps:

  1. From your Shopify admin, click the + button beside the Sales channels heading.
  2. On the Add sales channel dialog, click Instagram to learn more about the sales channel.
  3. Click Add channel.
  4. Log in to your Facebook account page to authenticate your Instagram account in the sales channel.

After you added your Instagram business profile, your account will be reviewed by Instagram for access.

Launch a Facebook Store

Since we are talking about social media and making it easier for potential customers to get to your shop, why not go and talk about the social media platform with the biggest amount of users?

It’s easy to start selling your products via Facebook by integrating it with your Shopify account and having one whole inventory.

To connect your Shopify account to your Facebook page, click on the “Connect account” button at Facebook > Account.

Click on Continue when Shopify asks for your permission to read your Facebook page as well as manage and publish content on your behalf.

Finally, Shopify will ask you which page you want to add the store section to.

After that, you are set! (You will have to do some “paperwork” talking about what you can and cannot sell on Facebook and terms.)

Create Content and Giveaways!

All of these tips and tricks listed before can help your business after a month or so but you may need a boost in sales in a shorter period. If that is the case then you should consider doing giveaways and contests which incentivizes new people to interact more with your brand in order to win a prize.

By having a sudden spike in traffic of people going to your website you can take this as an advantage and offer discounts for them to buy products regardless if they win the contest or not!
